Day by Day Itinerary

Your South African family adventure starts as soon as you arrive at the Cape Town International Airport. You will be met by your guide, who will accompany you to your hotel situated near the famous V & A Waterfront. You can spend the rest of the day at your own leisure. Relax or enjoy everything that this hotel has to offer!

After a delicious breakfast, get ready to start your half day Cape Town City tour. Your first stop will be at the famous Table Mountain to enjoy a 5-minute revolving cable car ride to the top! Your family will be thrilled for this exciting ride! Plus, the view from the mountain summit is breathtaking.

You will return to the city via the old Cape Malay Quarter. Go for a walk through the Company Gardens, home to the South African Museum, Houses of Parliament, National Gallery and St George’s Cathedral. You can spend the rest of the day strolling in the city or relaxing at the hotel.

Today, head to the fishing village of Hout Bay. On the way, you will pass by Sea Point, Bantry Bay, and Clifton. You will also see Bakoven and Llandudno, with their ghostly shipwrecks. Take in these fantastic views even before you have reached your destination! Once you arrive in Hout Bay, you will board a boat to enjoy the view of the Cape fur seal colony on Duiker Island. From there, navigate the 114 curves of 600m-high Chapman’s Peak Drive.

Afterward, explore the Cape of Good Hope section of the Table Mountain National Park, home to fabulous birds and very special fauna. Then, climb to the famous Cape Point Lighthouse to capture the magical vistas of False Bay.

Before going back to your hotel, stop by to visit Boulders Beach to see the penguins.

After breakfast, you will spend 90 minutes sailing around Table Bay on a beautiful catamaran, learning all about the rich biodiversity of Cape Town’s water. Look out for dolphins, seals, sunfish and whales!

In the afternoon, get access to the Two Oceans Aquarium, home to over 3,000 living sea animals and voted one of the best aquariums in the world! This is quite the educational experience for you and the kids.

Today, you say goodbye to Cape Town and make your way to the beautiful Garden Route. The Garden Route Game Lodge is a perfect destination for a malaria-free safari holiday for your family.You will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. You and your kids can enjoy the game drive while safely watching African wildlife together!

 

After an early morning game drive and breakfast, you have the day at your leisure to enjoy all the lodge has to offer.

Today is the perfect day for the kids. There will be a Kids Bushwise Activity program prepared for them, and they can have the experience of getting up close to some of the wildlife on the game reserve, a guided bush walk and insect walk or fishing at the nearby waterhole. Kids will love the interactive tours of the Reptile Center, home to numerous snakes and crocodiles. They will surely find this day unforgettable!

Before you end your day, you will enjoy a thrilling evening game drive in an open safari vehicle. Watch the animals from a safe distance as they come out to enjoy the twilight.

Today, go on an early morning game drive and have breakfast before you make your way to George, where you will visit Redberry Farm. Your family can enjoy picking your own strawberries! There are also other fun activities in store for you at the farm such mini train rides, a large outdoor playground, bumper boats and bubble ball on the dam, as well as pony rides. You will also find there the largest hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere!

After lunch, you will proceed to the quaint little town of Knysna, where you will be staying for 3 nights. The town is famous for its oyster festival, warm people and the most magnificent views from Leisure Isle to the Knysna Heads.

Today, stop by for a visit to Oudtshoorn, the Ostrich Capital of the World!

You will arrive in Oudtshoorn in time for your first visit to the Wildlife Ranch where you will get the chance to pat a cheetah! Afterward, arrive at the Ostrich Farm and sit or ride an ostrich. Your last stop is at the world famous Cango Caves.

You will drive back to your hotel in Knysna in the late afternoon.

Get ready for a very exciting day! It is time to meet the elephants, monkeys, and birds of Africa!

After breakfast, travel to the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay. On the way there, stop over at Knysna Elephant Sanctuary. Then, you will visit Monkeyland, where you can have face-to-face experiences with the free-roaming primates that inhabit the sanctuary! Lastly, visit the Birds of Eden Sanctuary, the world’s largest dome where you can find many native bird species. It even has its own mysterious ruin, which incorporates a curious walk – behind a waterfall!

After a delicious breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the George Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. Once you arrive in Johannesburg, you will be transferred to the international airport for your flight back home.
