Day by Day Itinerary
Let your adventure through South Africa begin! Land at Cape Town international airport, where you will be greeted by a member of our team. Travel together to your hotel, located just across the famous V&A Waterfront! Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, and recuperate from your long flight. Use the many facilities that are included in the hotel or rest in your hotel room.
Sleep in on your first day in South Africa, before you begin exploring the magnificent city of Cape Town in the afternoon. Located in the shadow of iconic Table Mountain, Cape Town is a city that gives off a vibrant and exciting flair, while at no loss for gorgeous scenery. Travel through the city on your tour, and learn about its historic and colonial past before heading to the modern buildings that symbolize its growth. Ride in a cable car up to Table Mountain, where you can take in stunning views of the city from above, as well as the peninsula it is situated on. Upon return to the city, pay a visit to the Company Gardens, the South Africa Museum, and the Castle of Good Hope. Afterwards, head to the vibrant flee market at Greenmarket Square. Continue on through the colorful Malay Quarter, or Bo-Kaap. In the evening, return to your hotel.
Wake up to another bright day in South Africa! Enjoy breakfast before heading out for your full day tour of Cape Point. Along the way, drive the beautifully scenic seaboard coastal road. Get out of the car for a pit stop at Clifton and Camps Bay. If you wish, you can take an optional tour at your own expense to Seal Island. If you would rather stay ashore, head to the craft market at the harbor, where you can shop for souvenirs and local crafts. Continue your tour along one of the most memorable routes to Chapman’s Peak. Then, top at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, home to a collection of South African wildlife. End your day with a visit to Boulders Beach, where you can catch a glimpse of the magnificent African penguins. On your way back to Cape Town, drive through Simons Town and stop at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens before returning to your hotel.
Today is a day that is perfect for wine-lovers. Enjoy a delightful breakfast at your hotel, head out of town to the renown Cape Winelands, comprised of historic towns, luscious valley, and the lovely farmsteads that produce that fabulous South African wine. The Cape Winelands lie the shadows of the Cape Fold Mountains and have been producing grapes since the 1600s. Now, it is the largest wine-producing region in the country. As you discover the region, step into some world-calls wineries and take a sip of their delicious products. In the late afternoon, start your trip back to the city. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before checking out of your hotel and returning to Cape Town International Airport. Hop on your flight to George. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and taken to Tsitsikamma National Park, part of the famous Garden Route along the coast of the Indian Ocean. The Garden Route has everything an outdoor-lover could wish for, from age-old forests and natural lagoons to spectacular beaches and surf spots. Hikers and adventure seekers will feel at home here surrounded by nature. Upon arrival at your cabin in Garden Route National Park, relax for the evening until you meet with your trail host, who can answer all of your questions about your upcoming hike. Savor your dinner before heading outside to take in the thousands of stars that shine down upon the park.
Wake up early and take a short walk to observe the many birds that can be seen chirping in the early light of dawn. Then, return and enjoy your breakfast. Afterwards, lace up your shoes and meet your guides who will accompany you for your two-day hike. Begin your hike at Storms River Mouth before crossing the mighty river via suspension bridge. Climb up the path to Lookout Point, where you can enjoy views of the South African coastline and Plettenberg Bay. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and whales swimming along the shoreline as you sip on a refreshment at the Misty Mountain Reserve. If you still have some energy left, you can enjoy a quad tour, mountain biking, or fresh water fishing. Be sure to be back by sunset! Enjoy your favorite cocktail as you watch the sun set over the magnificent Indian Ocean before you start on your three-course meal.
Dig into a hearty breakfast before heading off for the second day of your hike. Walk down to sea level, where you will spend most of the day. Start at the lovely rock pools, where you can don your bathing suit and hop in for a swim. Your guides will also carry snorkeling gear, which you can use to look for critters beneath the water. Continue your walk along the coast, which offers magnificent views of the ocean. Be prepared to climb over rocks that are dampened by sea spray. Watch out for Cape Clawless otters as you pass by “Otter’s Alley”. Climb back up to the peaceful forest to enjoy your lunch and rest your feet. Continue your hike through the forest to the Fernery, where you will end your hike. If you wish, you can still go out for a boat ride or take a spin on a bicycle – although relaxing in the jacuzzi is also a fantastic option. For dinner, savor a four-course meal.
Sleep in after your exciting hike or wake up early to watch the sunrise. After you’ve had your breakfast, grab a lift in a 4×4 which will take you over the Storms River Pass back to Tsitsikamma National Park. There, your driver will be waiting to take you on a tour of Knysna. Knysna is just waiting to welcome visitors with a wealth of activities. With over eight beaches, there are endless opportunities to swim, surf, canoe, jet-ski, or simply hang out on the beach. The town itself offers a lively atmosphere and bustling markets. Then, check into your hotel located on the gorgeous Knysna waterfront. There are a number of excellent restaurants in the area that you can enjoy at your own expense if you get hungry.
Get ready for a truly remarkable day, as you head to the world famous Kruger National Park in northern South Africa. After breakfast, check out of your hotel and leave the coast behind. You will be transferred to George Airport for your onward flight to Johannesburg and Nelspruit. Kruger National Park is one of the world’s largest game reserves and is exceptional both in size and it’s diverse range of African wildlife. This is one stop you will never forget! Upon arrival, head directly to your lodge to relax and freshen up before dinner. Be sure to keep peaking out the windows, as wild animals such as giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, baboons, and many others are known to roam across the property. This is the perfect spot to relax and, at the same time, catch a glimpse of some of Africa’s most spectacular animals.
Set your alarm clock to the wee hours before dawn. The early hours of the morning are one of the best times to see Kruger National Park come to life with animal activity. Start your safari through the park in darkness, and cruise along looking for wildlife as the sun makes its gorgeous debut. Enter the park through Kruger Gate, one of the best wildlife areas to visit. Visit various watering holes, lookout points, and rivers. Often, the animals will gather along the water to quench their thirst, and watering holes are great spots to snap some excellent pictures. Stop to rest and enjoy your breakfast. Afterwards, continue your safari and stay on the look out for the more than 100 mammal and 500 bird species that roam the area. In the late afternoon, return to your lodge and rest after such an early start. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying yourself before dinner.
Wake up to another beautiful day in Kruger National Park. Soak in some energy as you savor your breakfast. Then, it is time to enjoy a Bush Walk, led by one of the qualified park rangers. Stroll along the walking trails with your camera at the ready. A simple walk is the best way to watch your surroundings fill with life. At midday, return to your lodge and enjoy some free time before dinner. In the evening, head out for a night drive to take a look at the fascinating nocturnal activities of the animals in Kruger National Park. There is so much to see behind the cover of darkness, if only you look closely!
Wake up and take in a hearty breakfast to begin your day. Afterwards, head out to explore more of the area. Make your way towards Mpumalanga Highveld, and visit the world’s third largest canyon. Take in stunning views of Blyde River Canyon, as well as the Three Rondavels, God’s Window, and the small town of Gaskop. In the town, enjoy some souvenir shopping and your lunch. Afterwards, continue on to visit some of the area’s spectacular waterfalls, such s Lisbon Falls and Mac Mac Falls. Also stop by Bourke’s Luck Potholes located in the Blyde River. In the afternoon return to your lodge for some well-deserved leisure time. Relax at the pool with a refreshing cocktail before digging into your buffet dinner.
Wake up early for your flight to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. You will receive a packed breakfast for the way. Transfer to the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport where you will board your flight to Johannesburg and onward to Victoria Falls. Upon arrival, you will be met by one of our representatives and taken to your hotel. Use the afternoon to relax and freshen up before you begin your evening activities. Then, hop aboard your optional sunset cruise along the Zambezi River. The Zambezi River is Africa’s forth longest river, and provides an excellent opportunity to spot some more of Africa’s fascinating wildlife. Watch the sun set over the water as you search for elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and many types of birds. Afterwards, return to your hotel for your overnight stay.
Start your day with a refreshing breakfast. Use your morning to spend some more time exploring the falls or wandering through the quaint town at their base. Then, check out of your hotel and transfer to Victoria Falls International Airport. Board your flight back to Johannesburg. After you’ve arrived in Johannesburg, head to your hotel located in the heart of the city. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Visit the nearby Nelson Mandela Square or some of the cities other attractive sights. If you need to grab a last-minute souvenir or postcard, Johannesburg has a number of fantastic shopping options. However, you can also spend your afternoon relaxing in your hotel.
Wake up and savor your last breakfast in Africa. Afterwards, check out of your hotel and head to the airport for your flight home. Have a safe trip, and be sure to return soon to the beautiful country of South Africa!
