Situated below Table Mountain, Devil’s Peak and Lion’s Head, Cape Town offers a rich cultural and colonial heritage, grand splendour and an assurance of activity of excitement. This tour is a geographical and cultural extravaganza, showing you Cape Town, from its historical beginnings of yesteryear to the dazzling modern buildings of today.
You commence with a cable car trip up to the legendary Table Mountain for spectacular views of the Mother City and the surrounding peninsula. Back in the city itself, you will have the chance to visit the well preserved Company Gardens, the S.A. Museum, the Castle of Good Hope and the vibrant and arty flea market, Greenmarket Square as well as the Malay Quarter.
Rise and shine! After breakfast you will enjoy a Full Day Cape Point Tour along the scenic Atlantic seaboard coastal road. We pass the pristine beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, see the 12 Apostles Peaks, Hout Bay and the Sentinal. Admire the splendid views which open up in front of your eyes!
Upon request you can also visit Seal Island where of course you can see numerous seals in their natural habitat. Otherwise shop for souvenirs at the craft market at the harbor. You will be driven from there through the most beautiful scenic road, Chapman’s Peak. You will be astonished by the landscape!
Visit Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, home to ‘fynbos’, wild animals and birds. You have an option of enjoying lunch at the restaurant with views of False Bay or visit Boulders Beach to see the African penguins. Next on today’s schedule is a stop at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
Enjoy your rich breakfast in the early morning. Afterwards you will go on a Full Day Whale & Winelands Tour in Hermanus – the whale capital of South Africa. You will take the scenic coastal Clarens Drive that offers spectacular views of False Bay. Arrive at the quaint holiday town of Hermanus and search the cliffs of Walker Bay for whales. There may be an opportunity to join boat-based whale watching which is both quite fun and educational.
Your journey continues into the beautiful Hemel en Aarde Valley, meaning Heaven and Earth. Pay a visit to Bouchard Finlayson Wine Estate for a wine tasting of the famous South African wines. Relax with a cup of tea at a farm stall where you can find natural preserves, jams with a difference, and delicious pastries. After having relaxed return over Sir Lowry’s Mountain Pass and enjoy the views of False Bay.
Good morning! Today you will enjoy a Full Day Cultural Tour. Your fist stop is a visit to a local Township. In the afternoon you will visit Robben Island, subject to availability of the ferry and the Robben Island time-table. This awesome looking island is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For many years it was a place of banishment, exile, isolation and imprisonment Once you reach the island you will be given a guided tour and see the prison cell that held Nelson Mandela captive for so many years.
